Why We Chose This
Alpaca is softer than cashmere, warmer than wool, and lighter than both — and this throw is handmade by artisan farmers in the Peruvian highlands using techniques passed down through generations. That story matters in a mountain rental where guests are already thinking about craft, nature, and authenticity. The classic camel and white stripe works in virtually any interior, it will not pill, and it only gets better with time. The kind of throw guests fold up reluctantly when they check out.

Alpaca fiber has been prized since the Inca civilization placed a higher value on it than gold or silver. That reputation holds. This throw is made from 75% alpaca and 25% wool by small artisan farmers in the Peruvian highlands using traditional farming methods and a close eye on sustainability.
The result is a throw that is genuinely softer than cashmere, warmer than lamb's wool, and featherlight despite its substantial look. The microscopic air pockets in alpaca fiber create excellent insulation without weight, and the natural fiber resists pilling in a way synthetic alternatives simply cannot match.
The classic camel and snow white stripe is timeless and works draped over a chair, folded at the foot of a bed, or pulled out on a cold evening by the fire. Each piece is handmade, meaning slight variations exist — which is exactly what makes each one a work of art rather than a commodity.
The alpaca live freely in the Peruvian Andes and are not harmed during shearing. Their soft padded feet do not damage the terrain. As sustainable as it is beautiful.
